Well summer is almost over, but it sure has been a fun and unforgettable one here! From our first SOLD OUT Crab Feast to the two country concerts in the Garden, I just never want it to end. The Crab Feast was a hit, like always, and the August Feast is already sold out, showing just how much fun people have when crabs, booze and friends are involved. For more information on our Crab Feasts for 2015, check our website or call Michael’s early next year. If you are unaware, Michael’s has a beautiful wedding garden out back that has played host to wedding ceremonies and country concerts for the last two summers. The garden holds a little under 500 guests, making it a fun and intimate location for any concert or event. Now to the first two concerts in the WPOC Hot Summer Nights Concert Series…
The first one, on June 26th, featured The Swon Brothers, who won 3rd place on season 4 of The Voice. Boy, were these guys a treat! I got the chance to spend some time with them before the concert and they are how they seem, nice, cute and fun. Plus, they had so much fun performing for their fans and were just a blast to be around. They jammed, joked and even did a meet and greet with all of their fans after the concert. These guys have a long and promising future ahead of them, and I’m glad they got to come to Michael’s and hang out in the Garden.
Also, a Maryland native opened for them, Ashley Forrest. She was adorable and really owned the stage while she performed. She has performed at Michael’s before, opening for Greg Bates in last year’s concert series. She is headed in a great direction and was so kind to all of her fans after the show. Ashley is always welcome back to the Garden stage!
For the July 24th concert we had Danielle Bradbery, The Voice season 4 winner! This girl is loved by all and it was no different having her here at Michael’s. We presented her with a birthday cake (her birthday is July 23rd) and she couldn’t focus on anything else. She was so sweet and grateful for everything, but really we were all more grateful that she came to Michael’s to perform for her adoring fans
Safe to say she enjoyed it and everyone enjoyed her. Danielle did a meet and greet with her fans as well, which I know many of them were happy about. She is an amazing girl with country filled future. I hope she stops by again!
Shane Gamble opened for Danielle and was great. He owned the stage and played music off of his new album that isn’t even available yet. He met with fans before and after the concert, signing autographs and taking pictures with everyone – what a great guy.
Me and all the Michael's family wish everyone the best!
Keep an eye out for a blog post about the last concert of the summer with Scotty McCreery!

Hello wonderful people and welcome to everything Michael's Eighth Avenue! I will be sharing posts about the big happenings here at Michael's, along with short words of wisdom and updates as they come.
To begin I want to share a little about Michael's, who started it and who I am.
Michael's Eighth Avenue is a family owned business that was started in 1990 by Michael J. Wagner Sr. while he was still a member of the Senate. Mike was a well known community activist and had the ability to help anyone and everyone who crossed his path. He used his political influence to bring about change throughout his community. He cared about the people he was serving and wore many different hats to show how much he cared, "Business Owner," "Father," "Son," "Pop Pop" and probably his favorite "Mr. Ferndale," just to name a few. Michael's Eighth Avenue was a vision of Mike's, and he ran with it. He would always say success is work and nothing less, which he knew best because he started out driving the family egg truck. That is the way he lived his life, work hard and help others. Mike inspired many and has left a mark on all of the hearts of those he encountered. Mike Wagner passed away February 13th, 2014, but I am honored to have known him and have called him Pop Pop.
He left the business to his family and staff to continue what he started. Which is where I come in, my name is Sarah Wagner - new to the sales team, but not to the family. I recently graduated from Penn State, and I am learning the ins and outs of everything Michael's and what it takes to run this successful business. The blog will relate to my experiences here at Michael's, along with different events we have. If you have things you want to know or hear about please let me know through any of our social media platforms, I am here for all of you!
